IEP plans under IDEA cover students who qualify for Special Education. Students who do not meet the criteria spelled out by IDEA may still qualify for help under SECTION 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, also known simply as “Section 504” or “a 504 Plan.” IEP vs. To qualify, the ADHD must adversely affect a child’s educational performance. The amount of time and areas in which the student will be removed from the general education setting are also identified.Ī 504 Accommodation Plan is guided by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure that a student with a disability has access to accommodations that improve academic functioning.
